Job Description

Restaurant Technologies, the leading provider of highly innovative and value-enhancing bulk cooking oil management services to the food service industry, is currently seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our growing and innovative team.  You will have the opportunity to join a small but experienced engineering team to lead the regulatory efforts related to our established core product as well as to develop our new concept through to product release and national market rollout.  This is an opportunity to make an impact quickly, have direct exposure to key leaders in the organization and contribute to the building of the new division of the business from the ground up!

Key Position Accountabilities

  • Leading efforts to understand and update fire and building codes, at both national and state level
  • Leading all permitting processes for building, fire, HazMat, etc.
  • Working with regulatory agencies and/or third-party consultants, including traveling to present new products to regulatory officials
  • Ensuring that products adhere to all relevant regulatory safety requirements
  • Maintaining regulatory certifications with the appropriate agencies
  • Working with suppliers to maintain product certifications
  • Researching regulatory changes that may affect products
  • Identifying the appropriate laboratories for performing regulatory testing
  • Defining and supervising all compliance testing
  • Advising the development teams
  • Work directly with customers to help guide them through the permitting process
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree OR 5+ years of regulatory or technical experience 
  • Strong organization and time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail
  • High Mechanical aptitude to understand and explain the system components and address questions
  • Ability to effectively work cross functionally with remote business partners
  • Strong influencing skills
  • High learning agility- ability to quickly learn new skills/concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to present to and engage regulatory officials and groups
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to travel up to 50% (domestic travel only)
  • Must have proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desired
  • Knowledge of UL standards (safety research and scientific expertise) beneficial 
  • Previous experience working in a team to develop and launch new products desired
  • Proven ability to work with remote business partners is a plus

  • Competitive Base Compensation
  • Corporate Bonus Structure up to 10% of base compensation
