System and Network Engineer Senior

Job Description


The Senior Systems & Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of all physical and virtual infrastructure environments as well as voice, data, video and wireless networks. This position will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.


Strategy & Planning
  • Collaborate with management and department members to assess both near and long-term infrastructure needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network and system infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations and development staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software / systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Work with IT leadership team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements / systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
Operational Management

  • Ensure full functionality of all network infrastructure, hosts, servers, storage, enterprise backup and related systems.
  • Design/perform security audits, penetration testing, vulnerability testing and lead any resulting remediation efforts.
  • Propose & design system models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to development teams.
  • Remain current on security alerts, zero day issues, vulnerabilities and malware and proactively address these issues where necessary.\Oversee maintenance of existing network infrastructure and installation of new systems.
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
